Alternative Fuel and Livestock is a Bad Marriage

When the first cries went out to find alternatives to fossil fuels, I’m not sure if the creators of the Declaration for Fossil Fuel Independence ever could see the impact that these technologies would have on livestock producers. Unfortunately, that time is come. Get ready for a sharp rise in some food prices as wheat and corn prices soar through the roof. These food costs are now impacting farmers in the Midwest.

Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman has sent a letter to U.S. Agriculture Secretary Ed Schafer, requesting assistance for Nebraska’s livestock and poultry industries because of the high feed costs.
